Social worker Raghavendra Kharwar staged a one-day strike at the electricity department office in Mairwa Dham regarding electricity related problems. The purpose of the protest is the poor electricity system in Mairwa including the district. Hundreds of consumers from Mairwa and surrounding areas participated in the dharna. Raghavendra Kharavar alleged that the consumers are suffering from electricity problems amid the scorching heat. The common people are very worried about electricity. Even in the midst of the scorching heat, the supply in the district is not getting enough. There are continuous power cuts in most of the blocks of the district. He demanded doubling of the supply demand of the district, improving the poor electricity system in the blocks, and installation of 132 KB grid in Mairwa. So that electricity supply can be continuous and common people do not have to face any kind of problem. Regarding this, he submitted a memorandum to him, the Director of Electricity Department, Executive Engineer Siwan and the Chief Minister through the local electrical engineer. He said that if his application is not considered then very soon he will sit on an indefinite strike.
